"Minitsukeru – encouraging care for nature among children."
We are delighted to announce the first TRUST seminar of the autumn.
This time we will be welcoming a group of distinguished researchers from the Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences, Japan, led by Professor of Comparative Education Michelle Henault Morrone.
The group will give a brief introduction to the current status of education for sustainable development (ESD) in Japan, followed by presentations on ESD methodologies that have been developed at the Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences in the spirit of "minitsukeru" - to learn something so well that it becomes part of your body. The methodologies are aimed at fostering care for nature through experiences, as a basis for eventually understanding more abstract sustainability concepts.
The presentations will be followed by an informal discussion on similarities and differences between ESD in Japan and Sweden, respectively.
