Do you want to gain international experience and new perspectives? Do you want to sharpen your language skills and your cultural competence? We offer four different options for studying abroad:

Students in Singapore

Exchange studies

  • Study courses during 1 or 2 semesters at a partner university.
  • No tuition fees.
  • Grant opportunities through Erasmus, International Credit Mobility etc.
  • All fulltime students at Uppsala University are eligible to apply.

Application dates 2020-2021:

  • 15 October to 16 November, 2020 for exchange studies starting in autumn 2021.
  • 15 April to 14 May, 2021 for exchange studies starting in spring 2022.

Erasmus Traineeship

  • Grants for traineeships, field studies, volunteering, summer jobs etc.
  • Allowed duration of activity is 60-360 days
  • Open for activities in the EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey and United Kingdom.
  • All fulltime students at Uppsala University are eligible to apply.

Application dates 2020-2021:

  • 1 to 15 September
  • 1 to 15 November
  • 1 to 15 January
  • 1 to 15 March
  • 1 to 15 May

Minor Field Studies

  • 27000 SEK for field studies resulting in a Bachelor's or Master's thesis in a developing country.
  • From 56 to 140 days in the field.

Application dates 2020-2021:

The application opens shortly after the closing of the previous application. The application closes:

  • 15 November (for projects that can be finished no later than 15 January 2022)
  • 15 April (for projects that can be finished no later than 15 January 2022)

Summer courses abroad

  • 2 to 3 week long courses during summer.
  • Free from tuition.
  • Grant opportunities.
  • All fulltime student eligible to apply.

Application dates for courses summer 2021:

  • Due to insecurities regarding travel caused by covid-19 there will not be an application for summer schools in summer 2021.

Many of our departments have their own exchange agreements, which are administered in different ways. Department and subject-linked exchange programmes are always tied to studies at a certain department or within a certain subject area. See what department you belong to so you can turn to them for information about whether they have places you can apply for.

The Division for Internationalisation is responsible for Uppsala University’s student exchanges and for guidance about studies abroad. Due to the Covid 19-pandemic, we provide all support via Zoom or by telephone and email.

Drop-in online: Tuesdays and Thursdays 13:00 - 14:00

To drop-in

All drop-in hours have moved online to Zoom. When you enter the Zoom meeting you will be placed in the waiting room until it is your turn. In the meeting you may use audio and video if you like but may also use the chat function.
